The St George Spearfishing and Freediving Club started back in 1956 and was one of the first spearfishing clubs in Australia. We always welcome new members and meet at The Point Bowling Club, 203 Holt Rd Taren Point 2229 from 7:00pm on the 3rd Monday of every month.Topics vary from Spearfishing the FAD's to how to hunt different species or locations but most of all, it's a great way to meet new spearo's, learn where the latest hot spot is and who know's maybe even get a boat ride with another keen spearo!

Sydney Freedivers is a club focused on freediving as a sport, recreation and an integral part of many underwater activities. Sydney Freedivers is dedicated to increasing the quality of divers through the application of good technique and steady training while maintaining a high level of diver safety. NSUC MEETINGS North shore underwater club holds meetings on the 4th Wednesday of every month. Where: 270 Pittwater Rd. Manly Time : 7:30 pm start (come earlier for eating in the bistro). Everyone is welcome to attend our club meetings and trainings even if you are not a member of our club. Membership to North Shore also awards you membership to the Sydney Freedivers.

The Australian Underwater Federation (AUF) is the governing body for underwater sports and amateur diving in Australia The AUF is also the administrative body for the Confederation Mondiale des Activites Subaquatiques (World Underwater Federation) The NCAS (National Coaching Accreditation Scheme) and the WAA (World AquaChallenge Association) The AUF is the accredited member of the ASC (Australian Sports Commission). The AUF is the umbrella organisation for the following sports and recreations: Fin swimming, SCUBA, Apnoea/Freediving, Snorkel, Coaching/Training, Spearfishing, Underwater Hockey.

The deep blue is a website for spearfishers interested in sustainable wild harvest. It provides up to date information on spearfishing in the Sutherland Shire, such as fishing closures and restrictions, land based access to hotspots, weather conditions, dive logs including where to find and how to spear fish.
